Cassandra Ventura (born August 26, 1986), known by her stage name Cassie, is an American model, R&B and pop singer-songwriter, dancer, actress and occasional music video actress. Cassie was born in New London, Connecticut, to parent of Filipino, African American, Mexican and West Indian heritage. Cassie was introduced to Ryan Leslie in 2004, who co-wrote and produced the singer's first and best known single, "Me & U", which became a hit in 2006. The singer's self-titled debut album, Cassie, was released on August 8, 2006. The album spawned two singles, "Me & U" and "Long Way 2 Go". Cassies first release off her new album featured Lil Wayne in "Official Girl".
Cassie also is very easy on the eyes. She has been modeling from a very young age. She has been on various billboards and major print ads. Cassie is currently the spokesmodel for Sean John's womens collection with actress Lauren London.
