Interview with Lashontae
Lashontae: Thank you. No training but I've had bad photoshoots too. So I learned different techniques as I went along.
We know that you have interest in acting as well as modeling, what is your biggest passion?
Lashontae: Bringing laughter to everyone. I would love to do that being on a comedy sitcom, similar to Martin. The type of show, you rush from work or school to see.
Would you ever do a reality tv show?
Lashontae: At first, I was apprehensive because I didn't want to take away from my "real" acting. But I would consider it. I'm funny. Ha!!
If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
Lashontae: An owl. They represent wisdom and helpfulness. Even though they were looked up to for their positive attributes, they were also falsely viewed negatively....just like me.
In the industry, who would you say is an easy, chill person to hang with?
Lashontae: I'm an easy, chill person to hang with.
How can you best describe your personality?
Lashontae: Down to earth, a side of love, a helping of generosity, 3 cups of laughter, second plate of loyalty, bowl of hood glamour, and a forkful of feisty, mushed together with southern hospitality.
Will you still do more music videos or have you moved on from that?
Lashontae: Sure. Why not?? I love music and enjoy visuals and concepts that's put
into videos.
Looking back at your career so far, do you have any regrets or is there is anything you would change?
Lashontae: No regets...mistakes make me a better person and help me continue to grow.
Do you ever look at yourself as a role model?
Lashontae: I have no choice. I have a lil sister who looks up to me and so many fans who wants some type advice.
How do you keep in such good shape?
Lashontae: It isn't easy! Ha! I've always been an athlete and being in the army kept up my love for staying shape. And since i love food, i have to make it a life routine.
What are some of your current projects and what are you looking to do in the future?
Lashontae: Continuing to pursue great acting projects, crossing over to commercials, working a pilot and u will see me soon..maybe a reality show.
What is it like working with Reesee of ZiggaZagga. We think she is the best, most talented photographer in the game.
Lashontae: That is my Girl!! I've known her for about 4 or 5 years. She has a fantastic eye and knows exactly what she wants. She is involved in every aspect in her shoots and sooooo underrated. I cant wait till the whole world sees her work!
What's your most fun/memorable job you have ever gone on?
Lashontae: It would have to be on The Game..I love the whole crew...was always welcoming and have the greatest spirits. Absolutely love them.
Do you think the whole video vixen stereotype has gotten better or worse over the years?
Lashontae: Of course its worse. The negativity surrounding the "Vixen" nonsense is crazy. Everybody has opinions and pessimistic view on the industry so it just comes with the territory. And it doesn't help when some women glorify the negative things as a badge of honor.
Did you enjoy your experience in the army?
Lashontae: I loved it. Achieved alot of private goals and self control in different situations.
What is your favorite color?
Lashontae: Red!! All fire, spicy and hot!
What's a typical day like for Lashontae?
Lashontae: Wake up early, workout, cook breakfast, work (which consists of auditions, filming, meeting, interviewing etc) cook dinner, workout, and family time.
What is something about you people would be surprised to know?
Lashontae: I'm an avid reader...besides feeding my mental with the unknowns...i also am addicted to trashy romance novels.
What advice do you have for any aspiring models/actresses?
Lashontae: No matter what, your in control of yourself. Everything is a choice, not a must.
