Nadia Dawn Biography

Nadia Dawn was born in Toronto Canada. She used her modeling career as a springboard to delve into her real passion, acting and hosting. Nadia has hosted various television series and went on to co-write her own show, entitled, 'SuperModelShowdown.com' This is a thirteen episode series filmed in the Costa Rican Jungle. The premise of this show is America's Next Top Model meets Survivors. Nadia also has hosted 'Wheresthepartyattv.com' which takes you to fine dinning restaurants and fascinating club scenes around the globe. Nadia Dawn has shot for Benchwarmers.com and you will be able to buy her own autographed trading cards.

As you can see from Nadia's impressive resume, she is far, far more than just another pretty face. She is mad talented! She is a screen writer, book writer, actresses and model. She is also an accomplished hostess. She has done the red carpet at the NAACP Awards and she will be the red carpet host for the Emma Awards later this year.

CC: What is your ethnic background?

ND: I am Gyanese, English and Indian.

CC: Where are you from? Currently live?

ND: I am originally from Toronto Canada and I live in Hollywood Hills.

CC: When did you get discovered?

ND: I got discovered when I appeared in the Shaggy video as the girl next door, "It wasn't me."

CC: What do you love about acting?

ND: Everything! I love the challenge, I love being able to portray different characters, I love being able to propel emotions into a scene, I love the complexity of it, I love the emotional roller coaster it takes you on.... I could go on forever!

CC: I see you have done alot of hosting?Do you ever get nervous before an event?

ND: Always, no matter how much hosting I do for some reason I still get nervous.

CC: What is your ultimate goal in the industry?

ND: I am writing a screenplay entitled, "Suitseer," it's about believing without actually seeing. I am also writing a biography. Ultimately I will direct this picture and release my book. I want to make a positive mark in the urban market. I get dismayed by the way women of colour are being portrayed. I steamed from music videos and we "video girls" do have a brain! I loath the fact that some rappers degrade women and think of them as second class citizens. I don't want to be the video girl -- butt out -- if you know what I mean -- I want to be respected, diligent, articulate and make a positive mark globally for all women of color.

CC: What do you do to relax?

ND: Eat! I have that problem seeing that this industry is so picky about weight!

CC: Who is the one person you would love to meet?

ND: Oprah Winfrey! She has been able to fight all of Hollywood's criteria by not losing weight and not conforming to Hollywood's standards, starting her own production company, motivating and inspiring individuals. Oprah had a hard upbringing but in turn she used it to propel her to do good. She is dynamic and I can't wait to meet her! I will meet her soon. CC: What do you find attractive about a person?

ND: I find it attractive when a guy tries to get to know me. Instead of saying, "ow you're hot, let's hook up." I love it when they are go-getters, entrepreneurs, tall, sexy, articulate and driven. I'm single by the way and looking!

CC: How would you best describe your personality?

ND: I am a bit complex.. I have to admit. I strive for more than the average person. I am fun and willing to do anything. I am a go-getter and know that you only have one life to live so live it to it's fullest.

CC: Are you very selective on the jobs you take?(promotions,movies etc)?

ND: Yes, very selective. I will no longer do music videos unless it is an acting role and I am the only girl in it. I will not do any nudity, or anything that involves girl on girl. I also have to look over a script before I decide to it. I have had some really bad ones come my way!

CC: Do you have any special message you would like to say to your fans?

ND:I want to thank you all for supporting me in my career. If you have a dream, you have one life, live it and don't be afraid! Also, I am co-starring in a movie with Prodigy entitled, H.N.I.C.
