Interview with ShellyRio
ShellyRio: I was born in NYC, and raised in a lil town in NJ called Hasbrouck Heights.
What is your ethnic background?
ShellyRio: Irish & Black.
How did you get discovered?
ShellyRio: I wouldn't say I was discovered, it was more like I went after my dreams.
What are some of your current projects?
ShellyRio: Currently I'm working on a pilot for a reality show I created about myself and some other urban models and I'm working on putting my own foundation together for foster kids and group home kids.. Right now you can see me in the Nov. issue of SSX Magazine and in the new Holiday campaign for Lugz Boots.. You can also catch me in the Ludacris new video "What Dem Girls Like", and Colby O'Donis "What you Got" video..
Who do you look up to most in the industry?
ShellyRio: Its a tie between Cindy Crawford and Tyra Banks.. I grew up watching Cindy and doing her workout tapes every morning.. Tyra lifted the bar for high fashion models and showed them you can still be beautiful and have curves.. You don't have to be a bean pole..
How do you dress on a regular day?
ShellyRio: Lol, You really want to know.. I live in sweatsuits and my Ugg boots.. Their so comfy../p>
What do you think is your best physical attribute?
ShellyRio: I have to say my legs.. No matter if I gain weight or lose weight, they still look bomb, lol.. Don't you remember the Jay-Z video "Excuse Me Again"..
What are some of you current hobbies or interests?
ShellyRio: Hanging out with my kiddies and hubby and doing fun day trips. I'm like a big kid, so when ever I want to do something silly or go somewhere for kids, I say "Oh, my son wanted to .... I also love watching anything reality, thank God for tivo..
What are some of your future goals?
ShellyRio: To have a solid successful foundation for foster kids, to open up a group home, and to be on a billboard in Times Square..
How would you best describe your personality?
ShellyRio: I would have to say quirky, lovable, and fun..
What advice would you give to the aspiring/beginning models?
ShellyRio: God is your boss, so no matter what you say or do to further yourself in this career is pointless if you don't have him on your side.. With that said, don't compromise yourself, if this is your calling, God will make a way.. People have tried to prevent me from booking certain jobs and when it was my time, God made a way.. One example is Wild N Out...
What are some of your turn-ons and turnoffs?
ShellyRio: Hmm... Bad breath, bad hygiene, bad attitudes, debbie downers, ignorant people and liars.
What is something about you, that people would be surprised to know?
ShellyRio: Probably that I grew up in a group home and/or that I'm married with 2 children.
Whats it like being a Wild N Out girl?
ShellyRio: Fun, I love it.. The girls are dope and Nick Cannon is great, it's like a great big family... By far, the best set I've ever worked on..
Acting or modeling, which one do you prefer?
ShellyRio: Modeling
Out of all the projects you have done, which one did you have the most fun doing?
ShellyRio: Wild N Out, imagine working with all your friends and getting paid! It doesn't get better then that..
