Im going to start this thead by saying that I have nothing against your precious Beyonce and this is NOT a hate thread.

I dont seem to understand, at ALL whatsoever WHY Beyonce was cast as Etta James in Cadillac Records...

Beyonce is great okay, great body, amazing voice and etc etc etc but anyone who is not blind knows...Beyonce cannot act!!!

She was simply BAD, in pretty much every movie she has apppeared in...next to Jennifer Hudson she was non-existant in Dream Girls. I dont understand why this woman is trying to act...when she simply CANNOT do so.

How can Beyonce...a woman that has probably never cursed in her life, probably never drank alcohol, never smoked a cigarette...play a heroin-addicted, troubled and complicated singer who cursed like it was poetry???...and if Beyonce could act...then that would be a diffrent story...but she cannot.

And the greatest thing is that this woman actually belives she could win an Oscar. Did anyone EVER play back any of her movies for her????...

It's not as if I thought Jamie Fox was talentless, I just thought the role did not fit the characters he played. Like Anthony Hopkins in the same movie with Chris Rock. WTF!

Think about it, when Will Smith was the Fresh Prince, did you think at the time he had the range to play Six Degrees of Separation, I am Legend, The Pursuit of Happiness, Ali, The Legend of Bagger Vance? Those roles are a long way from rappin' about '...you saw my blinker bitch'.

I've seen both bad and good reviews of the movie. Just give it a chance, she may surprise you. If not, it's what you expected.

I think the biggest problem so far, is that she hasnt moved outside her comfort zone as an actual actor. All her roles are of her singing something or eventually singing something. Thats why people dont take her seriously.

She needs to do a more serious role. Even if its a comedic role. Do something totally different. Anything, just dont sing.

She should do a role with a love scene, and that would make people totally forget that she is a singer. Unfortunately that is what works in the industry at least for women.

Unfortunately this a problem period for people that are actors and actresses. Someone like Tyrese for instance was definitely not liked amoungst the actors when he first got into the acting game. It wasnt him per say it was what he represented. The Face of rappers and R&B artists that just got jobs handed to them because they were popular and could just sell on face value.They get mad because the real actors had to struggle and grind their way to get the same opportunity. That obviously isnt right.

Tyrese, Will Smith, Jamie etc had to still earn their stripes though. Beyonce still hasnt at least not yet anyway.

Honestly, you all know I never liked Beyonce or anything about her. But ever sence she came out with this new album and a diffrent attitude, I kinda started diggin her. 'If I Were A Boy" is an anthem, the first time I heard it, I dam near cried. The way she sounds maaaan...and when I saw the video...my respect for Beyonce went from 3 to 20. I saw her diffrently. For once she wasnt jyrating and shaking her ass and "dancing"...she looked silly to me then. Now she seems more mature, she sings mature songs...everything I didnt like about her is kinda...not there anymore. At one point in the video when she says 'but ur just a boy...u dont care how it hurts' and she looks starigh into the camera I dam near stopped breathing how STUNNING she looked to me righr there and then. I like her new album, I like her new look...hanrdly any makeup, no fakeness everyone...it almost seems like she stripped all that bullshit and actually became a WOMAN. THIS Beyonce, I dig. This woman I listen to and watch and can relate to. She made a song a video so influential...not many artists come close in my eyes.

I hate to bring her up again LOL, but as much as I love Britney...I would LOVE for her to do something DEEP. Something this meangful. 'Womanizer' is great and the video is hot, but on many levels most of my favorite artists cannot stand close to Beyonce.
