ok so this is a thread dedicated to something that has bothered me for a LONG time. Certain celebrities. WHY are they famous? Why do they make millions? & why am I sitting here talking about them? For example, Alicia Keys- we all know her & love her for her talent, beauty, intelligence & all. But she's a SINGER. She records songs, sells records, tours, acts, writes... on the other hand we have Paris Hilton. Kim Kardashian. WHY are they famous? What do they do except party, act silly & be on the cover of every magazine for who they fucked & what they wore. Really? Seriously? Is THAT what it takes to be famous nowadays? Most people had even heard of Kim Kardashian before she fucked Ray J & made it public... she was Paris' BFF for a while, then she learned the trick of the trade... FUCK SOMEBODY FAMOUS & leak it on the internet. WOW! Next thing you know, she's on every cover of every magazine for her flawless body & gorgeous face... I love her & all, but come on. I know girls who look 100 times better & have way nicer bodies. They're not famous OR rich. Why? Cus they have more moral than to fuck for fame.... honestly, it's a shame what it takes to get to Hollywood nowadays. What happened to talent? What happened to working from when you're 5 years old to get to where you need to get to? What happened to endless auditions & demos before you finally get your break? Is it really THIS easy you guys?? This truly bothers me.

I think you answered you own question in your little rant there. Why they so popular? Because they learned a while back that all you really need to catch and keep the lime light is to come from a family with money, act like a spoiled lil rich bitch and keep the drama going around and about you and you'll be just as popular and someone with talent. If your lucky someone may just offer you your own reality show....cha,ching!!

that is irrelevant to the point! Even if she has NO talent of ANY sort, NOTHING... she STILL sings & sells records for a living. People with access have an easier path to success. Alicia Keys had to be good to be famous, because she could not gain access to fame otherwise. Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian come from families that have been tied into the Hollywood scene for decades. They grew up around producers, actors, and other stars. All they had to do was decide to be famous and it was a done deal.

Being famous is not that hard once you have the connections. It's who you know, not what you can do. So it just comes down to either knowing the right people or networking with the right people. I would argue that the vast majority of models, actors/actresses, and musicians are pretty talentless. Megan Fox can't act. Jessica Biel can't act. Colin Farrel is a terrible actor. They have no talent, but they worked at it and were fortunate to know/meet the right people.
