I'm pretty sure all of you remember Charla Nash who was severely attacked by her friends chimpanzee, Travis, early this year. Today, she had an interview with Oprah on her recovery and also to show her face. In my time, I have seen some very gruesome injuries, and this one is right up there at the top. This woman lost basically her whole face, part of her scalp, and hands. I feel this really sends the message that exotic animals are NOT pets.

***I must warn you this is VERY graphic.***

The injuries were way way worse than I was expecting. Sad.

That's just messed up. You go to visit a friend and end up mutilated.

Sad part is PETA says when this first happen that she must have provoked the animal.

That's just awful. I'm at a loss for words. My heart goes out to that woman. As for PETA, as much as I can't stand them, they do have a point. It makes no sense to keep such an animal as a pet. Hopefully, people will learn from this tragedy and won't have wild animals as pets. Chimps are 5-6 times stronger than people. Something like this should of been expected to happen.

That's a surprise (sarcasm), in a situation between a human and an animal it's always the humans fault. I could careless about that radical group.

The chimp didn't belong to Charla Nash, it belonged to her friend, Sandra Herold. She was coming over to help her get the chimp back in the house.
