The difficulty in answering this question goes to the subjective definition of "overweight" and "in shape". Some specific examples of who the questioner thinks are overweight women that black men like would be helpful. As to the in shape that would also be helpful many times I think the media/hollywood translates in shape = skinny.

ok first off i'm 6"2 335lbs i'm fit i lift weights run everyday and i have nice def but come on i have dated chicks that 110lbs-135lbs and let me tell you i just felt uncomfortable when it came down to the bedroom action cause i smash i put em in positions so i can drill for oil so i need chicks that are like 145-165 ya feel i like thick chicks that can take me on i just don't know how to handle small petite chicks or chick 200lbs and over

Now, to answer your question, it depends on the person's height. 120 pounds on a 5'8 chick aint like 120 on a 5'2 chick. Same with 175 pounds.

As long as they are not morbidly obese and their bodies are proportioned I'm happy! Alot has to do with the media also. My wife is 6 ft. and her measurements are 34-29-42 with 10% bodyfat and she is my IDEAL women as far as physical qualities go and I think thats because I'm a big guy.

Wow this is an interesting question. I really don't know how to answer it. I had this discussion before with a friend of mine. He attributed it (black men liking women with curves) to some psychological link that dated back to pre-slavery Western African tribes liking women with big butts and big hips because they thought it made them more fertile, but in the end who knows. All I know is I love curves, why... go figure. I guess a counter-question would have to be in order here. Why do white men like skinny women without curves?

I think part of it comes down to attitude. A lot of big chicks now carry themselves like they are the STUFF regardless if they are carrying a ton and is only 5'-2".

Let's take Bria Myles for a second, she sits right on the borderline of this conversation. Bria is 34-25-45, 5'-6", and weighs 145 to 150-lbs.

before this question can get answered with a reasonably intelligent response. What is a baseline definition of fat, in shape and skinny. Any pictures? What I call in shape could be another persons fat. Unfortunately attractive body type is judged on a sliding scale(no pun intended). Perfect example the model Neshelle that has been posted on this board some people would call her fat. She is a big girl but I would not consider fat. For most guys there is a rather large gray area between being what some would call being in shape and fat that a lot of women fall into. Neshelle is a perfect example.

The guy that asked the question was talking about those brothers you know that date the 200 lbs. or more chick, they like em cause they know that nobody else wants their fat ass and that these chicks have self-esteem issues so they will do anything (including anything sexually) because they do not want to be alone. He's talking about the kinda a chick that would rather be treated like shit then to not be treated at all.
