Police say two female middle school teachers are in jail on charges they got into a fight in front of students.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says 30-year-old Tawana Horton and 28-year-old Cambrella Pickney bumped into each other Friday at St. Andrews Middle School and began fighting.The public school teachers were arrested Wednesday and charged with disturbing schools.

The sheriff's department says the teachers have been placed on administrative leave.

School district spokeswoman Karen York said the district is investigating. -- Associated Press
