BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - - H. McCarthy Gipson, Buffalo Police Commissioner, "This group of individuals..they come from the Central American area..and they have a history of violence." Buffalo Police Commissioner H. McCarthy Gipson says he has credible information that a very dangerous gang is making its way into WNY. He's putting out a public alert about a possible gang initiation rite. H. McCarthy Gipson, Buffalo Police Commissioner, "as part of this initiation..they would utilize the tactic of using a rear end vehicle collision." Gipson says if a driver stops to check for damage to their car, the gang would attack. That's why he's warning the public not to stop if rear-ended in an accident. He says you should call 9-1-1 and keep going to a well-lit area, or a police station. H. McCarthy Gipson, Buffalo Police Commissioner, "This is not to panic the public. We just want the citizens to know that this group is dangerous." Gipson wouldn't name the gang, but we've heard reports that the group could be MS-13. They're known as a very violent gang from Central America. Members typically have numerous tatoos as you can see in this YouTube video. They're typically well-armed and often use machetes. H.
