I made this list because, the music now these day's just aint' what it used to be. The production, lyrics, and song content aint' doing it for me anymore. Im' in my mid 30's right now which means that I grew up during the golden era of rap, a place in time which just doesnt' exsist anymore. Everybody for the most part had their own identity back then, and the record companies were'nt trippin' or riding who was hot AS much as they are now....creativity was still alive! Wether you were hardcore, backpackin', comedic, for the ladies, kickin' knowledge, or just on some different stuff you had your own identity and your music was uncomparable! Now I dare anybody to name me an album that came out in the last eight years (excluding Get Rich or Die Tryin' and The Masacre, because no matter how much people try to hate on 50 he know's how to pick beats, write hooks, and put an album together....period!) that you can honestly put in and let play from begining to end....honestly! I may be wrong, and no doubt this is only my opinion, but I doubt that there are any. Now all of these albums on MY list, in MY opinion were masterpiece's. From the production, to the lyrics, song content, and just overall character! Every single one of these albums affected me in a different way, and takes me back to that place in time I was talking about before. Dont' get it twisted there were other albums from the 80's and 90's that were ill too, but as far as MY TOP 20.....this is it! I didnt' mean to write a book here, but Hip-Hop is very special to me, and no doubt is the most revolutionary form of music ever......believe that!
