[dropcaps round=”no”]L[/dropcaps]auren Speed came into the world kicking and screaming on a beautiful autumn day, on the sixteenth of November in 1985. Everyone knew that there was something special about this child because even as a baby she had a certain aura that commanded attention whenever she entered or “crawled” into a room. Throughout her childhood she loved the performing arts and began taking dance lessons at the age of four which she continued throughout her life. Although shy at first, she eventually and very quickly warmed up to the spotlight. She became so confident in performing that the stage became her second home. Throughout High School she was in a number of musicals, plays, vocal and dance performances. While in her teen years she was always complemented on her looks, appearance and knack for fashion. After experimenting in pageantry Speed was named Ms. Southfield 2002 but, not only did she have the looks she also had the personality to match. She was nominated by her class in high school for Class Sweetheart.
After graduating, she went on the attend college at Eastern Michigan University, where Graduated with a B.S in Electronic Media and Film. Although she dabbled in modeling in her adolescent years, Lauren began getting serious and becoming very successful in her modeling Career throughout college. She has done numerous runway shows, including BET Rips the Runway. Crowds went crazy at Lauren’s exotic appearance and unforgettable strut. She has also been featured in numerous ads including Chrysler and The Steve Harvey’s Clothing collection. She’s appeared in numerous magazines including The Source Magazine twice in 2009, where she was voted ‘People Choice Dimepiece’. She was also the cover girl on the #1 international Biker Magazine ‘Horse Backstreet Choppers’ Although she is new in the entertainment industry her star is rising very quickly. She was asked to do a number of events during the SuperBowl in Detroit including promotional modeling during Nelly and Eva Pigford’s SuperBowl Extravaganza as well as G-Unit and Buffy the Body’s Super Bowl Takeova. She is continuing to strive for excellence in everything that she does and continue to make an even BIGGER name for herself.

Where are you from?
“I was born in DC but raised in Detroit…so I rep the D”
What are your measurements?
At what point did you decide you wanted to model and act?
“I’d say I really got serious about my modeling and acting in college about 4 years ago…I was a theater student so I started becoming really comfortable in front of the camera and more doors began opening for me!”
What do you think is your best physical attribute?
“I love my lips and eyes”
What are some of your future goals?
“I really want to brand myself…I want to leave no stone unturned..everything from television to radio,even cosmetics, a magazine…clothes the works!”
What has been your most memorable shoot/job?
” I def say shooting the Slum video has been my most memorable job so far…it was my first “music video” but it was actually more like a mini-movie so I was super nervous but the end product is awesome and everyone was mad cool!”
How would you best describe your personality?
“Im a girly tomboy! lol If that makes sense…Im laidback and chill…I love sports…but at the same time I have my prissy moments! Im a goofball! I love to laugh and act silly…I feel like life is too short not to.”
Do you ever get nervous before a show and have you ever stumbled on a runway?
“Ive never stumbled thank God…But I usually get nervous right before the show, before I hit the stage..then once I’m out there I just “tune in…and tune out” I go into diva mode :)”
What is your fashion style like??
“My style is very funky! I love Brightness and patterns…but Im also In love with old hollywood glamour…so id say its kinda like if Marilyn Monroe and Gwen Stefani had a fashion love child!”
Biggest obsession Shoes or clothes?
“I love fashion! but I’m all about accesories so I guess I’d go with shoes!”
What do you find attractive in a person?
“Sense of humor! I think its such a turn on when a guy can genuinly make u laugh…but not corny!”
What is something about you that people would be surprised to know?
“Ive danced classical ballet since I was 4….Pointe shoes and all”
Has acting always been a passion of yours?
” Ummmm Ive always loved dance and singing so acting just kinda came along with everything else…Im starting to really love acting though! Its a lot of fun!”
What are some of your hobbies?
“I love fashion, so I love to shop…I also love to write…Its really relaxing….oh and of course I was a film student so I looovvve watching movies….”
Would you ever do a reality tv show?
” Yea I’d do Reality TV….It would be hella fun!!”
